The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

PANDA Unit

pandaSome children and young people may be seen on PANDA. This stands for Paediatric Ambulatory Near Discharge Area, which means that after your child has been on the ward they may go to this area to wait for test results or medicines before they go home. Other children may go home from a ward, but come back to PANDA every day to have more medicines such as an antibiotic.

PANDA is based on Ward L40 on the B floor in Clarendon Wing at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).

Teaching and Training We have a strong commitment to teach both medical students and junior doctors. It would be normal practice to have students as part of ward rounds and consultations, and we may ask your permission for you and your child to help us with teaching on some occasions.

Commitment to High Quality Care

Our department is proud of its commitment to delivering the highest quality of care. We hope to promote a friendly, safe and clean environment for our patients.

We have developed and use evidence-based pathways of care and guidelines and we meet as a multidisciplinary team every week to review and improve our practice. We welcome any comments or suggestions and use your ideas to help us continue to deliver excellence.
