The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

ENT (Ear Nose and Throat)

The Ear, Nose and Throat department provides a comprehensive and specialised service centred in the department of ENT Surgery at Leeds General Infirmary. In its role it is closely supported by the adjacent Hearing and Balance Centre, providing audiological services.

What we do

The scope of the ENT Department is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of all types of diseases of the ear, nose, throat and neck, in both children and adults. Most patients are treated without the need for surgery but we are committed to performing as much day surgery as possible for those that require it. The range of procedures carried out is from the simple treatment of glue ear through to major head and neck reconstructive surgery, complex ear surgery including acoustic neuroma and skull based surgery and complex endoscopic sinus surgery including minimally invasive pituitary surgery and surgery of the anterior skull base.

General ENT Services are also provided at Wharfedale Hospital including some day case surgery.
