Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the process of using systemic drugs to kill cancer cells. There are certain types of sarcoma (synovial sarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, myxoid sarcoma) that are sensitive to chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy can occasionally also be offered before or after surgery, and in cases of metastatic disease where the sarcoma has spread to other parts of the body. Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust provides internationally recognised chemotherapy services.
