You may be sent for a number of different scans throughout your journey with the YRSTSS. Scans are useful for us to assist in diagnosis, and also during follow-up to monitor for recurrence.

We know that certain sarcomas can spread to other parts of the body. Any diagnosis of sarcoma requires a staging scan so that we can see if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. This usually involves having a Computed Tomography (CT) of the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Additional scans can be ordered depending on the recommendations of the YRSTSS MDT.
