Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Surgery

Catherine Hayden joined the specialist reproductive medicine consultant team at LCRM and Genesis in November 2010. She is a graduate of the University of Leeds (Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery 1993, Doctorate of Medicine 2001) and a Royal College of Obstetricians and Gyneacologists accredited sub-specialist in reproductive medicine (2009).

She undertook her post-graduate training in Yorkshire, with an overseas fellowship at Flinders University Hospital, Adelaide, South Australia.

She is passionate about patient-centred care and strives to create a collaborative partnership in her management, whilst maintaining an evidence-based foundation through her expertise. Academically, she enjoys teaching and training doctors, embryologists, nurses and patients through local, regional, national and international programs, conferences and charitable events.

She works full time in reproductive medicine and general / emergency gynaecology for the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She is married to a general surgeon and specialist in diseases of the upper digestive tract, and they have primary school-aged twin boys. They cherish their family time. She keeps fit by 10km running, tennis playing and skiing. She enjoys interior design and has recently relished the modern renovation of a period home.
