|Special Interests||Jay Wiper is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust based at Leeds General Infirmary. He graduated from Leeds Medical School and undertook his plastic surgical training in Yorkshire. He has undertaken specialist fellowships including the prestigious Reconstructive Microsurgical fellowship in Brisbane, Australia.
He has specialist interests in reconstructive microsurgery particularly following major trauma and works within the Leeds Major Trauma Centre. Other significant interests include sarcoma surgery, skin cancer surgery and all aspects of general plastic surgery.
He is actively involved in medical education and is an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Instructor and Faculty on several Plastic Surgery Courses for trainee surgeons. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Medical Finals Examiner at the University of Leeds. He participates in research, clinical audit and presents at national and international conferences. He is trained in National Peer Review for Major Trauma Centres.
