|Telephone Number||(0113) 392 2650|
|Special Interests||Clinical Speciality: Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
Academic: My main area of research is the use of cardiovascular MR in the assessment of ischaemic heart disease (both chronic stable angina and acute coronary syndromes). This includes the development and validation of comprehensive CMR protocols to assess left ventricular function, myocardial perfusion, tissue oedema, viability and coronary artery anatomy. I was Chief Investigator on the landmark CE-MARC study (Lancet 2012) which compared the diagnostic accuracy and cost effectiveness of CMR and SPECT against X-ray angiography.
Other roles: I am Vice-President (elect) for Education & Research in the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS), and President-elect for BSCMR (British Society of Cardiovascular MR). I am the Clinical Lead for the supra-regional CMR service in Leeds, one of the UKs largest. I am Clinical Director of the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility in LTHT.
