Multi-Storey Car Park

The Traffic Department and Car Parking Administration team forms part of the Security function within Facilities (Operational Services) and oversee's parking permit management and allocation, car park management and operation, vehicle enforcement, visitor parking services, hospital access and environmental travel planning within the Trust’s estate.

We believe that it’s extremely important that patients and visitors are able to park safely when visiting our sites. This is underlined by the fact that the multi-storey car parks at our St James’s and Leeds General Infirmary sites and the car parks at Wharfedale and Chapel Allerton have all been awarded the Park Mark award.

This award recognises car parks which have incorporated a tough range of measures to enhance safety and security of people and vehicles, with a view to deterring criminal activity.

The Trust has made a significant investment in to its car parking over recent years, providing facilities that are both safe and secure. This investment extends to the implementation of more flexible payment methods such as a facility for debit cards and ‘pay on foot methods, where Patients pay on leaving the hospital site as suggested

A range of priority parking is available across all our Hospital sites, including; (but not limited to) spaces for disabled blue badge holders, dedicated spaces for emergency visitors to intensive care, and dedicated ‘parent parking’ for the new Leeds Children’s Hospital facility.

We have a large number of concessions in place for priority patients and visitors.

We try to be as fair as possible to everyone and have a number of groups who are exempt from paying parking charges. These include people receiving cancer treatment, people with a family member who is critically ill, as well as parents of children who are staying overnight in hospital. In addition, drivers with disabled parking badges are exempt from paying charges, as are volunteers for the Trust.
