The gastroenterology and nutrition service sees children from Leeds and around Yorkshire with a wide range of disorders including vomiting, abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, feeding difficulties and poor growth.
What we do
A range of diagnostic tests are offered including upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, radiology, pH monitoring, and isotope studies.
We also work as a Nutrition Team, providing advice and support throughout the Children’s Hospital, and currently supervise 15 children receiving home parenteral nutrition (intravenous feeding).
Regular outpatient clinics include those for general gastroenterology problems, inflammatory bowel disease, a joint medical-surgical clinic, an adolescent transition clinic, and a fast track clinic for acute problems.
