Preassessment team

The preassessment team and process

We are a small team of nurses whose aim is to make sure that your endoscopy appointment is tailored as much as possible around you as an individual patient. We aim to provide you with as much information as possible about your procedure and make sure you get the most appropriate appointment for your needs.

Sister: Cath Hartley-Farrar

Staff Nurses: Dita Claxton, Eddie Brooksbank, Danielle Ibinson, Sarah Casey, Rachael Haigh, Sophie Brearley

Ward Clerk: Andreea Serban

What we need to know

The information we need is usually already on the endoscopy referral that has been sent to us by the doctor who wants you to have the endoscopy.

Sometimes though, certain medical conditions which may affect your appointment can get left off the referral.

This is why your appointment letter will ask you to contact us if you have any of the following; Pacemaker or other implanted device, Diabetes, Sleep Apnoea or if you take any blood thinning medication. Click here for more information about pre-existing medical conditions.

Contact us

If you want to discuss any aspect of your endoscopy, please don’t hesitate to contact us - we will be happy to talk you through your procedure. We are here every weekday from 8am to 5.30pm.
