Cancer support helpline launches
9 April 2020
A dedicated cancer support helpline has launched for hospital patients and/or their carers.
The helpline has been set up to answer questions about cancer care from anyone who has received a letter from the hospital about changes to their appointment or treatment related to COVID-19.
The helpline 0800 923 0014 is operated by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in partnership with Maggie’s Yorkshire; and offers a telephone support service 9am - 5pm from Monday to Friday.
The service is for anyone being treated at Leeds Teaching Hospitals for cancer. Other questions will need to be answered by GPs. The helpline will be staffed by the clinical team from the Maggie’s centre who are experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists, working alongside the Corporate Cancer Team.
