Jenna Jordan, Clinical Nurse Specialist
What’s your role:
I am an MND Clinical Nurse Specialist and I joined the team in March 2021, after moving over from Manchester. Many of the patients I cared for had MND, and I really enjoy looking after this patient group. I decided I wanted to focus my nursing practice on providing specialist MND care.
What part of the care jigsaw do you provide for MND patients?
I am one of the first points of contact for new patients and their families, and I identify other members of the team, and other services, to provide additional support for patients. I co-ordinate the ongoing support from the service, and review patients over the phone, in clinic and on home visits.
What do you enjoy about your role?
There are lots of aspects of my role that I enjoy, but I particularly enjoy reviewing patients at home, and seeing them in their own environment.
If you were not working here, where would you be / what would you be doing?
My first degree was in Archaeology, so I would probably be in a field, covered in soil, excavating a Viking settlement. It's more fun than it sounds.
Is there a highlight moment in your time here?
Joining the team! They have been very welcoming and supportive, and it's great to be able to provide excellent care to our patients through collaborating together.
