Creatinine kinase (CK) isoenzymes / macro-CK

Indication for requesting: to determine the cause of elevated CK if there are diagnostic difficultires. The proportion of CK-MB is elevated in MI, myocarditis and hypothermia. CK-MB is also increased in response to skeletal muscle disease or injury and extreme physical exercise.

Collection Con Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL (absolute minimum is 100 uL).
Instructions to lab: Centrifuge sample, separate serum, store in freezer. EDTA or lithium heparin samples are not suitable.
