Random GH samples cannot be used to diagnose GH disorders. Please contact the laboratory for protocols for dynamic studies for either GH deficiency or acromegaly/gigantism. GH is calibrated against WHO NIBSC IS 98/574. Conversion factor: miu/L = 3 x ug/L

Collection Con | Samples for GH should be collected following an overnight fast, and 30 min rest. Instructions for lab staff: Centrifuge, separate and freeze serum. Consult a BMS if the sample is older than 24h. Minimum volume 500 uL serum. If sending from an external Trust, please send samples on dry ice. |
