Tobramycin

An aminoglycoside that requires therapeutic drug monitoring because of its nephrotoxicity and vestibulo-ototoxicity. Similar to gentamicin multiple daily dosing and once daily dosing regimens exist with various reference ranges. If you are not able to interpret the tobramycin level result safely please contact the microbiology department for clinical advice.
