Anti Beta-2-Glycoprotein-1 antibodies (IgG) are found in some cases of Lupus anticoagulant and anti-phospholipid syndrome.

Additional Information | A raised anti Beta-2-Glycoprotein-1 antibodies in conjunction with clinical symptoms is considered an indicator of anti phospholipid syndrome. Anti-cardiolipin Ab will also be testetd when anti-B2GP1 Ab are requested. Also see entry for anti-cardiolipin Ab. Moderate rises in cardiolipin antibodies may occur transiently after infection. It is recommended that positive results are confirmed after 12 weeks. Antibody concentrations do not correlate with extent or severity of thrombosis. |
