Pancreatic Islet Cell Antibodies

Antibodies to Pancreatic islet cells (PIC) are detected using indirect immunofluorescence on pancreas tissue. They can be detected in up 86% of patients with new onset insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM).
