Cryptococcal antigen
This test detects the capsule antigen of Cryptococcus neoformans in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) using a commercial lateral flow test. Samples are initially screened at 1 in 2 and 1 in 100 dilutions. If either of these tests is positive, the sample can be titrated upon request.
This test is appropriate for the diagnosis of cryptococcosis. Note this test is appropriate for both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients.
