| Additional Information | Blood gas analysers are available on the acute wards and in the Emergency Department. DO NOT USE without being trained by lab personnel. If laboratory analysis is required, the lab must be contacted prior to sending a sample. Samples MUST be received within 10 minutes of venepuncture. Samples MUST NOT be sent via the pneumatic tube; this invalidates the results. Handwritten labels must be used on samples sent to the lab (addressograph-labelled samples will not be accepted). |
