Protein S (Part of Thrombophillia screen)

Protein S is a naturally occuring inhibitor of the coagulation pathway. A deficiency of protein S can contribute to an increased thrombotic tendency.

Additional Information | Protein S is a vitamin K dependent protein and levels are therefore diminished during warfarin therapy. Protein S levels may be reduced in pregnancy, with use of oral contraception or by HRT. |
