Test of drug resistance. The Protease and RT region of the genome is amplified, sequenced and compared to genome sequences on Stanford HIV drug resistance web site to determine wild type vs resistant mutations. PI/RT are the routine resistance testing available, Integrase and Fusion (T20) is also available.

Additional Information To determine the drug resistance of HIV positive patients either prior to or during treatment with Protease inhibitors, Nucleoside RTI or Non-Nucleoside RTI drugs.. Requires viral load of >1000copies/ml. Lower levels please contact the laboratory.
