Lincoln Wing (Wards)

Ward J42 is a 28 bedded mixed sex ward which provides both elective and acute care for patient with urological health problems. J42 are the primary caring ward for urology patients and we strive for as many urology patients as possible to pass through our service during their stay in LTHT. 

Patient pathways and routes through the service to J42 can vary. This is dependent on whether patients are on an acute or elective pathway. J42 look after any patients with any urological issues, we also care for patients with non-urological issues when bed capacity deems they cannot be placed within their speciality area. 

Ward J42 is on the ground floor of Lincoln wing and is situated directly opposite the main doors to Lincoln wing. We have a day room for patients and relatives to sit in with comfy sofas and a television for their use. Patients also have a television at their bedside which is payable by the patient at a machine located at the entrance to Lincoln wing. There are cafes in Chancellor and Gledhow wing for relatives to obtain refreshments. 

The ward nursing team includes a Senior Sister, Junior Sisters, Staff Nurses, Clinical Support Workers, Students, Apprentices and Ward Housekeepers. We also work very closely as an MDT team with other teams such as Doctors, Physiotherapists and Discharge Coordinators. 

The Visiting times on J42 are 2pm - 8pm 7 days a week. We kindly ask that if you need to visit outside of these hours you speak to the nurse in charge or ward sister regarding this. Visiting is also restricted to 2 visitors per patient. 

On the ward the nursing staff strives to be very visible and are usually around to answer any questions or queries you may have regarding yours or your relative’s care. We are also here to discuss any other queries or complaints that you have and ask you to speak to us about the care you are receiving.
