Trust to share hospital innovation plan to national audience

Plans to create a new health innovation village created around the development of the two new hospitals will feature in a major national property and infrastructure event in the city in May.

The Trust will be speaking and exhibiting at the UK Real Estate investment and infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) event held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds from 17-20 May. The plans to build two new hospitals in Leeds bringing positive improvements in healthcare for the region as well being a catalyst for a new Innovation Village.  

The Innovation Village is a one of the most exciting UK investment opportunities for health and innovation. It will be born out of five hectares of land and existing buildings, unlocked by the building of the two new hospitals to develop a world-class hub for research, innovation and technology in health and life sciences. At the UKREiiF conference, the Trust is seeking to explore partnership opportunities with investors and developers to help bring its ambitious vision to life.

The design by architects Perkins&Will for the two new hospitals in a single building - a new adults’ hospital and a new home for Leeds Children’s Hospital as well as the UK’s largest single site maternity centre -  was recently unveiled and work has almost finished clearing the site ahead of construction. These two new hospitals are part of the Department’s New Hospitals Programme commitment to deliver 40 new hospitals by 2030

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 17-19 May 2022. The Forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
