Innovation Pop Up receives accolade at the European Healthcare Design Awards

The Innovation Pop Up at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust was selected for the accolade of highly commended at the 2022 European Healthcare Design Awards in the Product and Technology Design Innovation category. This followed on from a challenging Europe-wide competition, coupled with an intensive judging process.
As one of the world’s most prestigious architecture awards, the European Healthcare Design (EHD) Awards celebrate and recognise professional and research excellence in the design of healthcare environments both in Europe and around the world.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is building two fantastic, state of the art, digital hospitals in the city. Central to the new hospitals are the development of our staff and systems to maximise the benefits of the new technologies which will enable the vision for a 'hospital of the future' to be achieved.
The Innovation Pop Up is the start of an exciting programme of activity and catalyst for transformational innovation in the Trust and NHS, using digital technology for improved efficiency and effectiveness which plans to deliver better patient experiences and outcomes.
Professor David Brettle, Chief Scientific Officer at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust said: “I was delighted that the Innovation Pop Up was recognised at the European Healthcare Design Awards. The Innovation Pop Up launched in September 2021, and is a key strategic development at the Trust. Since its launch, the Pop Up team have been instrumental in successfully bringing together industry, academia and clinical teams under ‘one roof’. Complementing this are international partnerships that have been established, such as the Leeds - Israel Healthtech Innovation Gateway.”
