25 November 2021

The 2021 Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards were held at New Dock Hall in Leeds, and BAM Construction walked away with several awards on the night. Including the "best of the best" award for the Nightingale Hospital project.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT) played an instrumental role in the 500 bed temporary Nightingale Hospital, which was officially opened in April 2020 by the late Captain Sir Tom Moore.

As lead Trust for the region, LTHT was involved in site selection, design, construction works, procurement, security, logistics, fire safety and was also the technical lead for medical gases and electrical work.

The hospital was built in collaboration with BAM, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, the British Army, NG Bailey, Silcock Leedham, Roses Medical, Brebur and Harrogate Conference Centre.

On the night, BAM received the following awards for the Nightingale Hospital project:

  • Building Project of the Year - Highly Commended
  • Integration and Collaborative Working - Winner
