Leeds Children’s Transplant Team
Team Leeds
The Leeds Children’s Transplant Team is an inspiring group of more than 40 children and young people, aged between 2 and 18, who have been the recipients of organ and bone marrow transplantation. After years of illness and overcoming hurdles in life, members of the team represent Leeds every year at the British Transplant Games, four days of competitive sporting events, including track and field, swimming, cycling, all in celebration of their gift of life and their donors.
Westfield Health British Transplant Games
Running for over 40 years, The Westfield Health British Transplant Games are a celebration of life. Taking place in different host cities every Summer, the games see teams from hospitals across the UK come together to compete in a medley of sports. The 4-day event attracts around 1000 transplant athletes and more than 1700 supporters.
An inclusive Games: Transplant survivors including children as young as five can compete in more than 25 sports and indeed, many athletes also go on to compete at the World Transplant Games.
About the Games: The Games are organised on behalf of Transplant Sport whose aim is to raise awareness of the need for organ donation, encourage transplant recipients to lead active lifestyles and show appreciating for, and remember, donors and their families.
The British Transplant Games also help to increase the awareness of Anthony Nolan and their need for blood stem cells and bone marrow donation.
Coventry will be the host city for the 2023 Games.

Registration for the 2023 Westfield Health British Transplant Games in Coventry is now open.
Leeds Children's Team members, volunteers, families and supporters should register before 21st May on the British Transplant Games website.
Team fundraising has now started. Team members and supporters can set up a fundraiser on the Leeds Children's Transplant Team JustGiving page. Anyone can make a donation to support the team on the same page.
