Celebrating the power of play

This week is Play in Hospital Week and our play team at Leeds Children’s Hospital are celebrating!

Yesterday the team held a stall in the entrance of Jubilee Wing which included games, crafts and displays to promote the importance of play and the different roles of the team.

Play In Hospital Week aims to raise awareness of the benefits of play in the treatment of sick children across the UK.

Emma Marshall, Play Specialist team leader said "Play is a vital part of the care we offer to children and young people in hospital. This years theme for play in hospital week is POWER of PLAY and here at Leeds Children's Hospital we recognise the how important and powerful play can be in helping children and young people before, during and after the hospitalisation. The Play and youth work team work hard every day at ensuring the children and young people are supported in their admission."
