Young patient donates £500 to Ward L49 at Leeds Children’s Hospital

A big thank you to former patient Alfie Haigh and his classmates from Woodside Academy, who donated £500 to Ward L49 at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
Alfie, who is six, is a regular patient, and wanted to say thank you for the care he receives.
Over Christmas, Alfie got together with friends from school, putting on stalls and tombolas, to raise money for the ward.
Alfie and his classmates came in to hospital to present a cheque to staff on the ward, along with two of his teachers.
Kairen Edwards, Play Leader, said: “We are ever so grateful for what these caring, thoughtful children have done - seeing them come onto the ward looking so happy to help us really made me choke up.”
The money will go towards purchasing DVDs, videogames, and craft materials for children on the ward.
