The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Help us find our rocks for NHS 70!

6 July 2018

To celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS on 5 July some of the young patients at Leeds Children’s Hospital, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust based in the centre of Leeds, have been busy decorating rocks ready for them to be hidden across Leeds.

Led by the Trust’s Play Team, and taking inspiration from various national rocks campaigns, the children have had lots of fun experimenting with paint and colouring pens and have come up with some fantastic designs including a bee, a turtle, and a ladybird, to name but a few.

The special NHS 70 rocks have been hidden in places around Leeds, and we want people around the city to be on the lookout for the rocks. All of the rocks have the hashtag #LCHRocks written on them or will have an NHS70 theme or design.

Lisa Beaumont, Play Service Manager at Leeds Children’s Hospital said: “The rocks have been a fantastic project for our patients to get involved in. They are really excited to see them popping up around the city and will be following their journey on social media.”

If you find one of the rocks, Leeds Children’s Hospital is asking you to post a photo on social media using the hashtag #LCHRocks.  In the post please include where you found it and give a clue as to where you’ve hidden it for the next person to find.

The rocks are clearly identifiable as they have the hashtag #LCHRocks written on the back or on the side.
