Parent and visitor arrangements during Covid

In addition to the general visiting guidance for Leeds Teaching Hospitals, please see the below guidance specific to visiting at Leeds Children’s Hospital. Updated 30.10.20.

General wards in the Children’s Hospital:

One parent/carer may remain with the child/young person for 5 days before a swap is permitted for another parent/carer.

Neonatal Unit:

One parent/carer will be allowed to remain on the unit 24 hours a day. Another parent/carer may book a timed slot to visit the unit during the day. Only one parent/carer will be allowed at the cot-side at any one time.

Paediatric Intensive Care Unit:

One parent/carer will be allowed at the bed/cot-side at any one time but another parent/carer may book another timed slot to visit during the day.

Exceptions to the above are allowed when both parents are required for training to enable discharge. Exceptions are also allowed for end of life pathways or in further exceptional circumstances.

We are continually reviewing our visiting policy and will update this information regularly. If you have any queries please contact the ward or department you are visiting.
