Commercial research is a vital part of the LTHT portfolio and contributes significant opportunities for patients to receive novel cutting edge treatments. The R&I team are committed to supporting this activity wherever it occurs in the Trust.

National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Adopted Commercial Research

When commercial research is adopted onto the NIHR portfolio it becomes a priority for R&I and LTHT. We wish to open it quickly and recruit to the predicted level in the time allocated. If you wish to participate in a commercially sponsored NIHR adopted study then you should work with the R&I team from the outset. Please let us know about any Expression of Interest (EoI) you receive, please use the NIHR costing template to predict costs and please use (if possible) an agreed commercial template agreement and send them all to R&I as early as possible.

Other Commercial Research

We are still able to support commercial research that is not adopted onto the NIHR portfolio but please be aware that some the costs for this research will be higher as none of the costs will be supported by the NIHR.
