Bowel & Cancer Research

The Bowel & Cancer Research charity offer proof-of-principle applications up to £50,000 and PhD studentships up to £75,000. They are keen to support early career researchers and details can be found here.

Crohn's & Colitis UK

The Pain Collaborative Network awards 2020 offers funding for £120,000 over a period of three years. The closing date has not yet been set so as to give researchers the time to refocus and apply once this current crisis is over, details here.

Guts UK

Guts UK offer a range of fellowships and project grants targeted at the effect of and to bring new insight and collaboration to gastroenterology and hepatology. See here.

Pancreatic Cancer UK

PCUK have a fantastic opportunity open to be part of the Early Diagnosis Sandpit Innovation Workshop, through which will result in five of the best research proposals being funded £100,000 each. Submission deadline; Extended to 15th September 2020

Clinical Research Fellowships in joint funding partnership with the Medical Research Council, three years funding of salary and £20k to obtain a PhD.Submission deadline; 2nd September 2020 (Opens 23rd July 2020).

Prostate Cancer UK

Upcoming Summer 2020

Soon to be launched here, is a strategic initiative for research funding to explore treatment outcomes and choice of treatment for men with prostate cancer. Submission deadline; October 2020 tbc.

Royal College of Surgeons of England

We offer a wide range of research fellowships, awards, grants and lectureships to support all career stages, from medical students through to consultants working in university departments and hospitals throughout the UK and abroad. For more information about schemes, please see here.

The Royal College of Anaesthetists

The RCA via the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia have a range of travel bursaries, fellowships and project grants available here.

The Urology Foundation

The Urology Foundation has an open call for their smaller research projects fund for up to £10k. The submission deadline is 30th June and 31st October and details can be found here.

The Fullbright Commission and The Urology Foundation Scholar award enables UK academic or professional urologists or urology nurses to pursue relevant research at any accredited US higher education institution for 3 to 9 months. Submission deadline; 6th November 2020
