We work for The Leeds Teaching Hospitals and we are based at the Chapel Allerton Hospital in the Dermatology Outpatient Department.
What is the aim of the skin cancer nurse specialist team?
Our role is to provide support throughout the investigation, treatment and management of patients with skin cancer. We are also here to support family members and carers.
How can we help you and your family or carer?
By giving you:
- An opportunity to discuss and clarify the information that you have been given.
- Further information and help to find information that is relevant to you and your family.
- Support for you and your family during the investigations, treatment, diagnosis and management of your skin cancer.
- Psychological care and support for you and your family.
- Someone to talk over your treatment options with.
- A link between you and the other care professionals involved in your care.
- An overall assessment of your needs as and when appropriate. You may hear this called a holistic assessment.
