The Children’s Oncology Long Term Follow Up telephone and video clinics are for children who have completed treatment a minimum of five years ago.
What is a telephone/video follow up?
This is a telephone or video call the nurse or doctor makes to speak with your Mum, Dad or Carer and you.
When does the telephone/video clinic take place?
- The clinic takes place on a Monday and Tuesday between 9.00am – 2.00pm.
What will happen during your telephone/video clinic?
- Each call will take about 10 – 20 minutes.
- The nurse or doctor will speak to your Mum, Dad or Carer.
- Your Mum, Dad or Carer will be asked about how well you are, if your taking any medicines and how you are doing at school.
- Your Mum, Dad or Carer and you will be given the chance to talk about any worries either you or they may have.
Keeping Healthy
Your Mum or Dad or Carer will be asked if they would like some tips to help you keep healthy.
Such as:
- healthy eating
- regular exercise
- and anything else you may want some tips on.
What does this mean for you?
- Less visits to the hospital.
- Less time off school.
