- Keep the dressing dry for 48 hours.
- Remove the outer dressing and steri-strips after 72 hours.
- If your breast is sore you can take pain relief as you would for a headache. ie; two paracetamol. Do not take any medicine which contains aspirin.
- Do not undertake any vigorous exercise or heavy lifting for 48 hours following your biopsy.
- You may develop some bruising but this should resolve within 2-3 weeks.
- If your biopsy site begins to bleed apply a clean dressing over the existing dressing and apply firm pressure directly to the biopsy site.
- If bleeding does not settle attend your nearest Accident and Emergency department.
