Mr Jiten Parmar

Primary designation:
Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Special interests: Trauma Lead, facial reconstruction, skin cancer, craniomaxillofacial trauma, skull base tumours, salivary gland disease, adult and paediatric patients

Mr Jiten Parmar is a highly recommended locally trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He completed his medical degree at the University of Leeds and his higher surgical training in the Yorkshire region. He has been a consultant since 2016 and has won multiple local and national awards for innovation, 3D planning, teaching and training. He has also worked in India and South Africa for a cleft charity and during his medical elective.

Jiten is a member of the Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners (https://www.tongue-tie.org.uk/) and performs 300-400 tongue-tie procedures per year. He has a wealth of experience with tongue ties and has worked in partnership with infant feeding teams to promote breastfeeding in the region.

Jiten is also an Oral & Maxillofacial Trauma Surgeon working at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. He has been the Maxillofacial Trauma lead for the department since 2016 and has a specialist interest in orbital (eye socket) surgery, skull base reconstruction and 3D custom implants. The department in Leeds oversees the MTC treatment of approximately 500-650 adult and paediatric patients per year.

Away from trauma, Jiten also has other specialist interests in dentoalveolar/oral surgery (wisdom teeth, tooth extractions), skin surgery, orthognathic surgery, and salivary pathology including endoscopic salivary treatment. He enjoys publishing scientific material and book chapters and training surgeons of the future.
