The Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology is based at St James's Hospital and offers a comprehensive diagnostic and care service for Leeds and neighbouring conurbations in West Yorkshire and beyond, serving a population of 2.5 million people. The centre is the only centre in the UK to be part of the European Reference Network for rare immunodeficiencies, autoinflammatory and autoimmune disorders. The service is maintained by four consultant clinical immunologists, three specialist registrars, a senior Sister, two immunology nurse specialists, four nurses, a specialist pharmacist, three medical secretaries and three clinic clerks.
