Meet the melanoma team
Dr Angana Mitra and Dr Andy Muinonen – Martin
The team has many years of experience in caring for patients with melanoma and have expertise in assessing moles and other skin lesions. They see newly diagnosed patients from Leeds and surrounding areas and provide follow-up and surveillance for melanoma patients.

Mr Donald Dewar and Mr Howard Peach
Both surgeons are experts in the surgical treatment of melanoma and carry out the necessary surgery for our melanoma patients. The operate at the Leeds General Infirmary and at St James’s Hospital. They are also involved in surveillance for melanoma patients after diagnosis.
Dr Maria Marples and Dr Satiavani Ramasamy
Our oncololgists see patients with more advance melanomas (which has spread to the parts of the body) or melanoma which has higher chances of coming back.
Dr Ramasamy has expertise in radiotherapy treatment.
Melanoma Clinical Nurse Specialists (your key worker)
Helen Nicholson, Helen Jackson and Beverley Ryder
The nurse specialist role is to act as a key point of contact for melanoma patients and their carers, through diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. They are available to provide emotional and psychological support, advice and education to patients in both hospital and community settings.
Individual appointments outside of the clinic environment can be made, which allows an opportunity to discuss and clarify any information given, or to talk about treatment concerns/options.
