Enter the Leeds Dental Institute building through the revolving doors in front of the car park. Walk down the main corridor and turn left down the first corridor on your left. The department is signposted ‘Clinical Photography’.
What we do
We are based within the Leeds Dental Institute in a purpose-built department containing a specialised photographic studio, 3D imaging room and an imaging download suite.
Seeing over 8,000 patients per year, we supply a multitude of services from general photography and video, to poster design and illustration.
Our services
Clinical Photography
We provide clinical intra and extra oral photography for use in patient records, research, teaching and publication. Photography is provided in our dedicated studio, in clinic, on the ward and in theatre. We also provide a clinical photography service for the Cleft Lip and Palate service at various outreach centres including Bradford, Wakefield and York.
Graphic Design
Graphic design services are provided for both the University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for brochures, leaflets and various promotional material.
PR & Events Photography
On location public relations photography is provided for a multitude of events including conferences, press events and VIP visits for use in marketing and promotional material. Requests for PR photography should go through the Trust Communications Team, or for University of Leeds requests by emailing Chloe Woodcock.
Clinical Videography
We provide a dedicated clinical videography service which is utilised for teaching and education, shot in 4K utilising the latest digital video technology. Requests for clinical videography must be made in advance by contacting us.
Commercial Video
We provide a commercial videography service utilising the latest Sony 4K digital video equipment for use in corporate videos and tutorials, for both marketing, promotion and educational purposes. To request video please contact Tim Zoltie by email.
Specimen & Equipment Photography
Photography of specimens, dentures, moulds and equipment is provided in our dedicated photographic studio using high-tech photographic and lighting equipment. Requests can be made by emailing us or dropping in to our department.
Poster Design
Poster design and printing is provided to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students studying at the University of Leeds. The service is also provided for staff within the School of Dentistry and Leeds Teaching Hospitals clinicians and consultants in the Dental Institute.
3D Imaging
We offer high fidelity 3D facial image capture utilising the DI3d System. The 3D facial image capture system is a passive stereo photogrammetry based solution for the creation of accurate, ultra-high resolution, full colour 3D surface images using standard digital stills cameras.
Illustration
We create medical illustrations using traditional and digital techniques for use in medical books, advertisements, journals, film, lecture presentations, magazines and television.
Printing Services
Using the latest in printing technology, we offer large format printing up to A0 in size. We are also able to print accurate photographs using our colour calibrated inkjet printers.
