Paediatric Immunology

Welcome to the Paediatric Immunology Service
The Paediatric Immunology service looks after children and young people from around the region who have suspected or proven primary immunodeficiencies. These are rare disorders in which part of the body’s immune system that protects us from infection is absent or does not function properly.
We support between 80 and 100 children and families, we accept referrals from all over West and North Yorkshire and the Humber. We work closely with the paediatric immunology team from the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle, one of two centres in the UK, which perform bone marrow transplants for primary immunodeficiencies.
