Ways to get here? 

Via Train

You can get to the test centre via train to Leeds City Centre Train Station. The station has all major train line companies going through it, including TransPennine Express, East Midlands Railway, Northern Rail, LNER and Cross Country.   

Once you have arrived at the station you can use the following map to reach the Test Centre via walking. The walk will take you around 15 minutes and 0.7 miles in distance.  Map to Test Centre - Google My Maps  

Alternatively, the route 5 First Bus can be used from outside the station to take you to the test centre, route below.  The timetable can be found here:  Timetables | Page 1 | Leeds | First Bus of around £5 per 2 hours.

Via Taxi

You can use a taxi and a taxi rank can be found right outside of the Train Station.  

The address the driver will need is: Joseph’s Well, Hanover Lane, Leeds, LS3 1AD. This would normally cost around £5.00  

Via Car

The Competence Test Centre is accessible via all major motorways including the M62 and M1 that connect to inner ring road in Leeds City Centre. There are a number of parking options available nearby at an average cost of around £5 per 2 hours.

Via Airport

England has a whole has many airports that connect the country easily to the rest of the world. The closest airport to the Test Centre is Leeds Bradford Airport, where flights from a range of providers offer regular affordable flights to Leeds. These include; tui, easyJet, Eastern Airways, Enter Air, Inghams, Ryanair, KLM, Jet2, British Airways, Balkan, Aurigny and Aer Lingus.   

The Test Centre can be accessed directly from the Airport using the A1 Flyer Bus which will take 45 minutes or using the A2 or A3 Flyer Bus at a cost of around £5 per person. Please see the link for bus times. Please note if using the A2 or A3 Flyer bus, you will ride that bus for 20 stops which around takes 15 minutes to Otley City Centre, where you will get off and take a second bus from the bus station. This is the X84 bus that will take you to the test centre. The times for this bus can be found here at a cost of around £2.90 for a single ticket. The total journey time using both buses is around 60 minutes. 

You can also access the Test Centre using a taxi directly from the airport using Arrow taxis. The airport has a designated taxi rank that is located just outside of arrivals at the airport. It will take approximately 25-30 minutes by taxi at a cost of around £25 for a standard 4-seater car. port using the A1 Flyer Bus which will take 45 minutes or using the A2 or A3 Flyer Bus at a cost of around £5 per person. Relaxing in the City  

For those candidates who are staying overnight before or after their Test of Competence, there are many things of interest to see and do.  

Leeds is one of the most famous cities in the UK, known for its historical monuments and economic vibrancy.  

The city offers many historic places to see such as the Civic Hall, and several museums and art galleries. For many of these admission is free or a small admission charge may apply for certain attractions.  

There are also many beautiful walks within the city both in the centre itself and on the outskirts.  

There are also a wide range of places to eat in the City from takeaways, cafes to restaurants and has been deemed the foodie capital of the North!  

In the evening candidates can also enjoy live music at a range of venues in the city or chill out a range of cosmopolitan bars and cafes.
