Our Virtual Generic Train the Trainer workshop dates and times are planned for:

You would only be required to attend one of these sessions. The cost of the Virtual Train the Trainer workshop will be £150 per attendee with a maximum of 6 attendees per workshop

Who is this training day for?

To gain the most benefit from the day, we encourage individuals to apply who have:
Responsibilities for training international nurses and midwives entering the UK experience in training and education competence in the delivery of clinical skills and practice.

As experienced professionals in your field of expertise, you are best equipped to spur motivation, share knowledge and consolidate commitment in nurses and midwives seeking to work in the UK.

Train the Trainer Overview

We are pleased to confirm that registration for the Virtual Train The Trainer workshop is now open and we are looking forward to hearing from you.

The Virtual Train The Trainer workshop learning outcomes are centered around the current Test of Competence OSCE provision only. The workshop will provide instruction to support learners who are seeking competence in common nursing skills and holistic patient care in support of their professional practice.

  • Build on existing knowledge about the NMC Test of Competence assessment processes and the APIE process to introduce the new ToC (2021)
  • Be aware of what you may need to know about the candidate and the candidate's assessment journey to help support resilience
  • Explore educational theory of Simulation Based Education and Debriefing during an OSCE
  • Develop successful preparation of an OSCE station using the APIE and the Skill marking criteria to create lesson plans to meet your candidate’s needs
  • Test a clinical skill based on the common top tips
  • Develop a list of objective debrief prompts that maybe used after an OSCE of a typical nursing skill
  • Develop tools to support the trainers This knowledge must be applied to the Test of Competence OSCE in support of the Future Nurse- Standards of Proficiency for registered nurses (2018).
