Dr Adam Hurlow

GMC number 6099092

Primary designation:
Consultant In Palliative Medicine
Department:
Palliative Care

My special interests are:

1) Symptom management in patients with advanced, progressive, life limiting illnesses. Symptoms I specialise in the treatment of include pain, psychological and emotional distress, nausea, bowel symptoms, and breathlessness.

2) End of life care. This involves helping people in the last year of life plan for the future, ensure their preferences for how they are looked after are known and get the support they and their carers need.

3) Cancer of unknown primary. I am part of a team that provides care for patients with cancer that has spread from one part of their body to another. The original site where the cancer started cannot be found. Our role is to support patients and their carers with what can often be difficult decisions about investigations and treatment .
