Trauma – Dr Sen is the Trauma Lead for Critical Care and has published in peer-reviewed journals on ‘Fluids in Traumatic Haemorrhage’, ‘Chemical Incidents’ and ‘Diagnostic accuracy of prehospital ultrasound in detecting lung injury in patients with trauma: a systematic review and meta-analysis’. He teaches on a variety of trauma courses and is passionate about improving trauma care.
Prehospital Emergency Medicine – Dr Sen works for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Air Ambulance Service (TAAS). He is the clinical lead for ultrasound at both services. He is also an examiner for the Fellowship in Immediate Medical Care, delivered by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and led on the development of the Faculty of Prehospital Care Consensus Statement on Prehospital ultrasound.
Ultrasound – Dr Sen is the co-lead for point-of-care ultrasound on adult critical care and has completed a MSc in medical ultrasound at Teesside University. He is also accredited in echocardiography by the British Society of Echocardiography and is currently completing his European Diploma in Echocardiography. He has been appointed as a supervisor by the Intensive Care Society for their accreditation processes (Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care (FUSIC)) in lungs, DVT and abdominal sonography.
