I am particularly interested in fatty liver diseases which are almost always related to obesity or alcohol. The majority of people with these conditions do not progress to significant liver disease and can be safely managed in the community. The most important aspect in this situation is working with patients and other healthcare professionals to achieve long term lifestyle changes. A minority of patients will have significant liver disease, this group need specialist treatment that might include liver transplantation. |
