Dr Stephen Page

GMC number 4615901

Primary designation:
Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist
Department:
Cardiology

I work as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist within the Yorkshire Heart Centre based at Leeds General Infirmary.

My two main areas of specialist interest are the management of patients with heart rhythm disorders (Electrophysiology)and the management of patients and their families with inherited cardiac conditions (ICC).

As an Electrophysiolgist, I work closely with 4 colleagues looking after patients with symptoms such as palpitations, breathlessness or faints related to heart rhythm disorders. I perform catheter ablation for both simple (e.g. SVT, atrial flutter) or complex arrhythmias (e.g. atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia).

I also implant cardiac devices such as loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices.

The other aspect of my job focuses on managing patients and families with a range of rare inherited cardiac conditions. These include conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and long QT syndrome and many others. This is a regional service and we see patients from a wide geographical area covering West, North and East Yorkshire and Humberside. This is a multidisciplinary service and I work very closely with my colleagues in clinical genetics and paediatric cardiology.
