Birth Partner / Main Support Person
Each patient may nominate one main support person to have unrestricted access to the ward, including overnight.
For safety and space reasons, we kindly ask that this person remains the same throughout your stay. If your circumstances mean you need to change your support person, please speak to the midwifery team so we can accommodate your needs compassionately.
Please note there are no sleeping facilities on the ward. A bedside chair is provided, and we ask support persons not to sleep in beds or on the floor for safety reasons. Quiet rest is welcome.
Children Visiting
Siblings of the baby are welcome to visit between 8am – 8pm.
Due to safety and infection control, we are unable to accommodate other children (e.g. nieces, nephews, or family friends).
Other Visitors
In addition to your main support person, two additional adult visitors may attend during each of the following visiting periods:
- 2pm – 4pm
- 6pm – 8pm
To help manage space and maintain privacy for all families, please do not rotate visitors during these time slots.
Infection Control
Hand hygiene is essential. Please wash or sanitise your hands on arrival and when entering or leaving patient spaces.
We kindly ask that you do not bring flowers, as they are not permitted on the ward due to infection control policies.
Need Support or Have Specific Needs?
We are committed to providing equitable, personalised care. If you have needs around visitors, support, language, accessibility, or safeguarding, please speak with a member of the team. We will do our best to accommodate you with compassion and understanding.
Thank you for helping us maintain a calm, safe, and supportive environment for all families.
