The Trust’s Patient Catering Team were nominated in the Awards for Excellence in Vegetarian Care Catering by our patients who were impressed with the range of available options.

They attended a ceremony held in the Houses of Parliament, and although they were only runners-up in the Hospital Caterer of the Year category, it demonstrates the great work our teams do in catering to the diverse dietary requirements of our patients.
We provide three meals for approximately 2,000 patients every day, which amounts to just over 2 million meals per year.
We source many of our food products from local businesses and suppliers and the theme for this year’s awards was sustainability, a key priority for the Trust, with sustainable food choices being a prominent feature in our Green Plan
First launched in 2016, the annual Vegetarian for Life Awards highlight the importance of catering well for older vegans and vegetarians.
