The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Outpatients Unit, at the Trust’s Seacroft Hospital site and the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the Trust’s St James’s site opened newly refurbished facilities thanks to a significant investment of £39,500, generously provided by Cystic Fibrosis Care, a small UK charity founded and run by parents and connections of people with Cystic Fibrosis. The grant was provided to fund several essential projects aimed at enhancing patient care and well-being within the hospital premises.
The enhancements include:
Seacroft Clinic Room Refurbishment: The clinic rooms have been soundproofed, a new private area was created for the CF Team and patients to have one-to-one clinic calls, promoting confidential patient consultations.
New Kitchen on ward J06 : A fully equipped kitchen has been installed providing a comfortable space for patients and staff.
Improvements have been made to the Isolation Area: This is to provide a safe and secure environment for patients requiring isolation during their treatment.
A new treatment gym room has been equipped with the latest facilities to support the physical rehabilitation and therapy needs CF patients, helping their journey towards recovery.
Patricia Kilpatrick, Charity Director of Cystic Fibrosis Care and CF Consultant Professor Daniel Peckham and the CF team carried out an official opening ceremony of the new areas on ward J06 at St James’s University Hospital.
