Laura Jones and Nicky Nicholson are specialist multiple pregnancy midwives providing dedicated care to patients pregnant with a multiple pregnancy. This service covers both the antenatal and postnatal period and they pride themselves on giving patients continuity, expert care and support during their high-risk pregnancies.
Leeds is a tertiary centre where the team support around 130 patients every year. They were instrumental in setting up a multiple pregnancy network with other specialist midwives nationally, to share ideas and learning to continually improve care.
The team were nominated by Richard Burgon MP and were chosen as regional winners in their category from a record 918 nominations made by 318 MPs across England.
Laura and Nicky will represent the North East and Yorkshire in the Nursing & Midwifery category at the national awards ceremony in London in October.
